A fairy tale set in Central Europe in early 20th century about a little girl named Anka, adopted from an orphanage by her rich cousin. The road takes her to a brick mill deep in the forest, where rugged but kind-hearted brick mill workers give her a temporary home. In the dark depths of the forest, earthly life interweaves with the wondrous, curious world of forest creatures, visible only to children of vivid imagination.
