Synopsis:
Twelve-year-old Tomek loves tinkering with old cars and driving go-kart races. He lives with his grandparents because his mother died in a car accident many years ago and his father has disappeared since then. His strict grandfather, who has still not got over the death of his daughter, calls the father a ?criminal?.
When they have another dispute at home and grandpa wants to prevent his grandson from go-karting, Tomek decides to run away and look for his father. He learns from his father?s old friend Darek where he is living now. Tomek secretly sets out on a trip to Sandomierz on the Vistula. He is accompanied by a strange little boy who he cannot shake off. His name is Gabriel, and he seems to have clairvoyant abilities. Together, they must not only survive a few adventures but also put a stop to two gangsters? activities. In the end, Tomek gets to know his father. He learns what really happened and unravels the secret of his faithful companion.
