Synopsis:
An exciting, action-filled family movie about Yohan (10) and his Heroic life 100 years ago in Norway.
Ten year old Jacob is sent away from home in order to work as a shepherd on a far-away farm. It's a hard and lonely job, but Jacob will not let the circumstances break him. Like a Numskull Jack, he challenges his surroundings, and gets acquainted with both domestic animals, wild animals, and travelling Gypsies. On the neighbouring farm, two children are treated roughly, and Jacob decides he will help them. Barnevandrerne deals with the near-forgotten labour migration of children which took place between the counties of Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder in the 19th century.
