Synopsis:
13-year-old Nelly's Bat Mitzvah is rapidly approaching. Nelly lives in Berlin with her Jewish mother Lucy, who comes from New York, and her father Benny. She does not really believe in god – in fact she is fascinated by outer space, which she intends to explore later, when she has become an astronaut.

One day, an announcement is made during one of those lonesome PE lessons: the school's basketball team has been invited to the European championships in Luxembourg. The pupils are shown a video of the last championships, and Nelly can hardly believe her eyes: the 16-year-old patron of the sporting event, Prince Edouard, is a great astronomy fan, just like her. Nelly is determined to get to know the prince. That means she has no choice – she must learn to play basketball so that she is selected for the team and can travel to Luxembourg. But this is not easy ...
