EFA Young Audience Award: 3 nominations, 55 cities

On 5th May children from 55 cities (record-breaking!) in 34 countries will watch together three nominated films and vote the award winning title. The European Film Academy (EFA) proudly congratulates the three nominees for the EFA Young Audience Award 2019.

– FIGHT GIRL (Johan Timmers, The Netherlands / Belgium)
– LOS BANDO (Christian Lo, Norway / Sweden)
– OLD BOYS (Toby MacDonald, UK / Sweden)

An international committee of experts, including ECFA member Lina Užkuraitytė (Int. Vilnius Film Festival for Children & Youth) pre-selected six films. A jury of former YAA participants then chose the three final nominations, that on 5th May will be screened simultaneously to young audiences across Europe and beyond, from Estonia to Turkey, from Kosovo to Australia.

In all 55 cities, young participants will get to discuss the films, connecting with their peers under the guidance of film teachers. That’s where Europe stops being a theory and becomes an experience! And it is the young audience that will act as a jury and vote for the winner right after the screenings.
