Synopsis:
Set in the Turkish city of Istanbul, MY ONLY SUNSHINE tells the tragic coming-of-age story of fourteen-year-old Hayat, who lives with her father and her bedridden grandfather in a riverside shack. Hayat's father owns a small boat that guarantees the family's survival through miscellaneous, but not always lawful ventures. Beyond the motion and romance of the water Hayat's life is harsh and relentless, but she has an instinct for survival. Her capacity for courage, endurance and hope in the face of these trials suggest that there is life despite the injustices in the world.
