After the ECFA Award and ECFA Doc Award, ECFA is ready to launch yet another prize that should generate more attention for European children’s film in all its aspects. After a proposal launched by the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, ECFA would love to convince more member festivals to soon hand out an ECFA Short Film Award.
The ECFA Short Film Award should be chosen by an ECFA jury – working by the same principals as the other ECFA Awards (and eventually judged by the same jury in one single festival). This new initiative will be launched in Oberhausen, in May 2018. Candidate festivals can contact ECFA on mail@ecfaweb.org.
Together with the extra attention generated in the ECFA Journal and ECFA Update and the maintaining of the short film database ECFA’s intention with this initiative is to raise awareness about European short films for children and recognise them as a valuable aspect of European children’s film culture.
