During CINEKID for Professionals, the international Industry programme for youth media in Amsterdam, the prestigious Filmmore Post-Production Award for Best Live Action Project in Development went to HANNEKE & FIET. Once again, the Dutch successful duo consisting of screenwriter Tamara Bos and director Mischa Kamp (WINKY’S HORSE, ROMY’S SALON) has a story in hand that will move and excite audiences around the world.

ECFA sends all of you our dearest wishes for the New Year. But if you’re planning to collect these wishes in person, there is no better occasion than ECFA’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday 17 February, 2024 at 15.30 in Berlin. Members will meet and mingle at the Vertretung des Freistaates Sachsen beim Bund, Brüderstraße 11/12.
During the award ceremony of the 26th Olympia Festival, an evening full of intense emotions, Artistic Director Dimitris Spyrou – who founded the festival 26 years ago at a time when terms such as “cinema for children” and “film education” were unknown to Greek audiences – announced that he will be stepping down and it’s up to Pantelis Panteloglou, ECFA President, and the team to take over.

The BUFF festival in Malmö, one of those yearly highlights not to be missed in the festival calendar, is again making a nice offer: a free accreditation for ECFA members.
With everyone being curious about the winners of the ECFA Awards, members should not forget that the result is in their hands. With 29 titles nominated in 3 categories, it all comes down to their votes to decide who will be the winners in the Feature, Short and Doc category. The European Film in Hospital project, run by 6 ECFA members, presents the inspiring results of research carried out by Il Nuovo Fantarca and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, through its two research centres OssCom and Cremit. The most striking result of this research was something we all long to hear from time to time: “What you do is useful, meaningful and contributes to the wellbeing of your audience”.
