DOKKINO – That’s how we do it in Finland!
Not just once, not just during a festival, but all year round… Finland’s DOKKINO is an annual, nationwide series of documentary film screenings, a film education tour for children and youth, organised by DocPoint Film Events. The event introduces 10-16 year old audiences to the world of creative documentary films, while promoting documentaries as a tool for learning and self-expression. DOKKINO makes international, high-quality documentaries available in Finland.

While still waiting for this year’s funding, Danish Children & Youth Film Club Foundation DaBUF is preparing another edition of the Filmcamp for young participants (aged 12-14) from Norway, Sweden, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark. And you’re invited too!
ECFA Awards 2023 for Best European Children’s Films
On 18 February ECFA announced the winners of the annual ECFA Awards for Best European Children’s Film, Children’s Documentary and Children’s Short Film. Winner of the Feature Film Award was COMEDY QUEEN (by Sanne Lenken), the Documentary Award went to WHY DIDN’T YOU STAY FOR ME? (by Milou Gevers), the Short Film Award saw an ex aequo, awarding both THE RIGHT WORDS (by Adrian Moyse Dullin) and LUCE AND THE ROCK (by Britt Raes).
