Animated Films for Children Awarded at Bratislava

bibianaThe International Festival of Animated Films for Children in Bratislava is with 15.000 admissions one of the most important festivals for this genre.

The award for the best film received Yulia Aronova for her film “One, Two, Three” (France & Switzerland, 2015), the UNICEF-Award went to “The Christmas Ballad” by Michal Žabka (Czech Republic, 2016).

A special mention from the jury honoured the German animation production Studio Film Bilder for a fresh and joyful selection of films in the competition (“Head up!”, “Octopus”, “Wolf”, “Bat Time”, A Reindeer Carol”).

The audience voted for “Stick Man” by Jeroen Jaspaert and Daniel Snaddon (Great Britain, 2016) as their favourite. The Danish designer, animator and director Jannik Hastrup received the lifetime achievement award as a “significant global leader in the field of animated film”.
